Our Zone 9 representatives found it tough going this week at the 2019 State Junior Championships held on Warilla's magnificent indoor facility.

In the Singles, Ethan Scott-Branagan (Belrose), fresh off his sensational victory in the recent Zone Open Pairs, experienced the roller-coaster ride that more experienced bowlers know only too well, as he suffered three straight losses in sectional play, 12-25, 17-25 and 11-25.

The Pairs combination of Taylor de Greenlaw (Neutral Bay) & Tristan Lau (Killara) bounced back from an opening round 8-29 loss to record a comfortable 20-6 win in Round 2 before closing out their sectional play with an 11-17 loss.

In the Fours, Taylor (lead), Tristan (3rd) and Ethan (skip) were joined by Ethan's younger brother Riley (2nd).  After losses in both their opening matches, 7-25 and 9-21, the quartet had the satisfaction of earning a hard-fought 12-12 draw in their Round 3 match.

Whatever the results, all credit to our Junior bowlers and their mentors.  They set a fine example for all bowlers in Zone 9.
