 SURELY SINGLES COULD  BE

             REDUCED  TO  25  UP

                   FOR  SENIOR  BOWLERS

THERE was no mention or excuse re the above by Mona Vale's Brad Landi or Rod Silber (St Ives) after the Senior's final.

However, considering the number of ends in the morning semi final can run into the mid thirties, it's a big ask for the 70's plus for a repeat performance, particularly after barely a 30 minute lunch break.

Whether more bowlers are turning sixty or the absence of Crawford Linton, who until this year had a virtual mortgage on the Senior singles and to a lesser extent the pairs, two sections were still necessary.

Brad's first zone title was his impressive win in the prestigious 2017 champion of club champions event when a member of the Avalon club.

After taking 33 ends to dispense with Turramurra's ever-green senior, Bob Hawtree he followed with this year's Senior single's title. Maybe he favours the four bowl discipline.

His opponent Rod Silber had mostly solid wins in the lead up rounds, although he was deeply apologetic about his performance in the final.

"I felt in good shape," said Rod, after his morning's semi win over St Ives club mate, Tim Walton.

"I can't believe I play so badly in the afternoon," said Rod.

FINAL SCORE: BRAD LANDI 31 def. ROD SILBER 9
