HOW  UNPREDICTABLE  CAN  A  FINAL  BE?

BOTH Belrose and Norths' fell over the line by one shot apiece to win their respective semis, so in bookie's parlance the betting on the final would have to be evens each of two.

If previous form in this event means anything, then it would have favoured Belrose, as both Matt Blackburn and Brad Franklin have a Four's State title to their names, plus 3 and 4 zone finals respectively.

SO WHAT HAPPENED?

Halfway through the final and the score 10 all, even money would still be the best price on offer.

No good looking at Zac Abro's sub, Gerard Kebourian. While he more than held his own in Norths' outfit, was he the seven shot difference?

Well maybe. If so, why wasn't he in the original side? He's been with you in two runner's up!

Make no mistake, this game ranked as good as any zone four's final.

There were any number of heads where a male hankie (sorry, no doilies yet?)  would cover four or five bowls around the jack.

Both sides found their weight early in the game and we're talking real good weight. A shot that either turns a bowl over once for shot, or at worst, just fails to fully lift it.

In the early stages, Norths' kept their lead, albeit by only two or three shots.

However, Belrose kept on their hammer, and levelled on the 12th.

        NORTHS'  DID  A  WINX

From there on Norths' players grew another bowling arm. Or was it the "X" factor!

Apart from allowing Belrose a two on the 15th, they refused to allow them back into the game.

Although they did grab two on the second last when it was agreed to pull stumps.

The exclusive and rare "neatest card" was awarded.  Honours to Belrose.

FINAL SCORE: NORTHS' 21, BELROSE 14
