SENIOR FOUR'S WIN WAS CRAWFORD'S LAST HURRAH . . . OR WAS IT?

  WAS  THIS  WIN  INTENDED  TO

            BE  CRAWFORD'S  VALEDICTORY!

Joe Sarragozza and John (Ed) Venteman together with Crawford, have notched up around 137 years of bowls. Include their skip, Tony Taylor and the total is well over 150.

"Both Ed (John Venteman) and myself decided that after all this time playing for Belrose, it would be great if all three of us had one last run in a zone event, just in case HE doesn't come back," said Joe Saragozza.

"Tony Taylor already had a side that included Ed, myself and someone else, who we hoped would understood the problem".

As to the culprit who reconstituted the side no one's saying  . . . so it would seem all three were complicit and be known as . . .

                      "Hook, Line and Sinker"

FOOTNOTE: Fortunately, Joe Sarragozza has always been Crawford's fall guy, the one that rectifies any of his mate's not so subtle comments, then pacifies both the new and experienced bowlers. However, new bowlers who are doing their best to impress him are easy targets.

                 JOE'S CLASSIC TO THEM:

"Mate, Craw's problem is that he expects everyone else to bowl as good as him".

Without wishing to sound patronising, the Mona Vale side and defending champions, Mark Witte, Wayne Fletcher, Steve Witte and skip, Roger Manning will hopefully excuse us if we don't elaborate on the game. Unfortunately or otherwise, both cards were mislaid.

FINAL SCORE: BELROSE 23 def. MONA VALE 9
